The secrets to drawing and painting I'm going to show you will help you make art more easily, more creatively and more confidently.
I know these secrets to drawing and painting work to do that, because I've been using them for over 40 years in three different fields of art.
And the beginning artists I've taught these secrets tell me these secrets to drawing and painting have made a huge difference in their art, because…
You may be like aspiring artist John Raines who told me:
"I recently started to get back into art after dropping it about 35 years ago.
I really would like to learn how to simplify my paintings and drawings; otherwise I end up trying to put everything in without discrimination or choice."
I struggled with that problem in my beginning years and I see many beginning artists doing the same thing today.
Face it; the world is a very complex place. Look out your window and you see so much detail everywhere.
Your natural tendency is to include all that detail and complexity in your art.
But, one thing I've learned during 40+ years in art is complexity is not your friend.
As one example, my painting below would be a lot less interesting if I hadn't simplified it and left out a lot of unneeded detail.

The Real Secret
The real secret to making drawing and painting easier, more fun and more creative is to simplify, simplify, simplify.
You start taking the complexity out of our complex world by learning to see almost everything as simple shapes.
I'll show you how in just a moment.
But first realize these simple shapes are hiding
everywhere right in front of you.
They are much like precious gems. Until you are taught what to look for, most gemstones look like ordinary rocks.
These gemstones I'm going to show you are the keys to making you a more creative, more confident artist.
What are these simple shapes?
The secrets to drawing and painting almost anything are four simple shapes: box shapes, cylinders, cones and spheres.
These simple shapes combine in different ways to form almost everything.
They surround you and you probably never even notice them.

They hide right in front of you…
…on the sink in your bathroom…
…in your living room…

.....…in the corner of your garden…

oooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo ...in the park across the street....Everywhere and in Every thing!
